Korea's No. 1 Almond Snack, HBAF, Now in the Philippines: Delighting Shopper Across Metro Manila

If there is one Korean snack Filipinos love bringing home as pasalubong after a trip to Korea, it’s the famous HBAF almond snack. Known for its wide variety of unique flavors, healthy ingredients, and eye-catching packaging, HBAF has become the ultimate go-to treat for sharing with families and friends. 

Launched in 2015, HBAF is the largest nut brand in Korea, recognized for producing healthy and delicious nut snacks made from fresh, high-quality ingredients. Almonds and other premium nuts are at the heart of HBAF’s products, reflecting the brand’s dedication to both flavors and nutrition. As of today, HBAF offers over 30 distinct flavors ranging from sweet and savory to spicy and exotic, catering to every snacker’s taste. 

The name HBAF (silent “H”) stands for Healthy But Awesome Flavors, a motto that embodies the brand’s dedication for crafting snacks that are both wholesome and irresistibly tasty, starting with their iconic flagship flavor, Honey Butter Almond.

Last month, we at Brosnep brought excitement to shoppers across Metro Manila with a sampling event held at select SM Supermarkets and Hypermarkets. In partnership with our sponsor, AT Korea. The event aimed to introduce Filipino consumers to the irresistible taste of HBAF, and give them a firsthand experience of its Healthy But Awesome Flavors. 

During the event, shoppers got to enjoy three bold and irresistible flavors of HBAF: 

• Honey Butter Almond - A cult favorite with the perfect sweet-salty balance

• Caramel Salted Almond & Pretzel - A crunchy, indulgent mix of nuts and pretzels

• Wasabi Almond - A spicy kick for adventurous snackers

The sampling event ran from late September to mid-October visiting key SM supermarkets and Hypermarkets including branches from Aura, Fairview, Megamall, San Lazaro, Southmall, MOA, Bicutan and North Edsa. 

The event proved to be a great success, with overwhelmingly positive feedback from shoppers. They were delighted to experience the unique flavors of HBAF and products sold faster than expected. Among the three flavors, Honey Butter Almond appeared to be the crowd favorite. Caramel Salted Almond also received strong reviews while the Wasabi Almond flavor sparked mixed reactions. Although many customers shared that they were already familiar with HBAF, they’re still excited to see it now available in local stores.
